Southeast Bank launches 11 agent banking outlets

Southeast Bank PLC. has launched 11 new Agent Banking outlets under the brand name “Shagotom” to facilitate access to banking services for unbanked populations, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas. These outlets, located in Bogura, Tangail, Gazipur, Rajbari, Faridpur, Satkhira, Khulna, and Feni, are part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to promote financial inclusion and extend banking services to every corner of Bangladesh.

The formal launch was conducted virtually by Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Southeast Bank PLC., with other bank officials and the proprietors of the outlets also participating in the event.

Southeast Bank’s Agent Banking services, branded “Shagotom,” offer a wide range of modern banking services, including conventional and Islamic banking options. Customers can open savings and current accounts, deposit and withdraw cash, transfer funds, receive foreign remittance, and access cheque book and card services. The outlets also offer loans for micro, medium, and agricultural purposes, health insurance benefits, utility bill payments, loan installments, and government allowances.

Furthermore, the outlets are equipped with Recycler ATMs, ensuring 24/7 access to banking services for customers, regardless of time or location. Through this initiative, Southeast Bank aims to provide essential banking services to underserved communities, contributing to the financial empowerment of Bangladesh’s population.
