Lock Upp 2 winner Shreya Kalra has responded to claims that the reality show was “scripted” and “biased” following her victory, writes Hindustan Times.
While fans celebrated her win, some social media users questioned whether she deserved the title and alleged that the show favoured her.
During a recent Instagram Q&A, a fan told Shreya, “People are saying you didn’t deserve it. It was biased.” She replied, “You tell me if not me then who?”
She then questioned why viewers did not raise similar concerns when contestants were brought back or when advantages were changed.
“Why didn’t people call the show biased when contestants were brought back? Why didn’t they call the show biased when they were kept in the secret room? Why didn’t they say it was biased when an advantage was taken away from me and given to someone else?” she said, adding, “Mic drop ho chuka hai guys.”
Akanksha Choudhary had returned to the show after being evicted through the inmates’ vote, while Yogesh Rawat and Harshad Chopda re-entered as wildcards two weeks before the finale.
In the semi-final task, Shreya received an advantage that allowed her to choose who would be eliminated.
She selected Shivangi Joshi, but Harshad, the first finalist, gave his place to Shivangi and saved her. Harshad was later eliminated.
Host Farah Khan was also accused of favouring Shreya.
She clarified that although Shreya’s YouTube company and hers are managed by the same team, Qyuki, she was unaware of their connection.
In the finale, Shreya, Shivangi and Yogesh emerged as the top three.
After a media and public-question round, Shreya and Shivangi became the top two. Shreya ultimately won the trophy and ₹1 crore cash prize.
