Imran Ahmed, Deputy Executive Director of Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women, has received the “Award for Social Welfare Activities” in recognition of his role in advancing digital transformation in Bangladesh’s microfinance sector, at an event in Cox’s Bazar on Friday, 3 July 2026, according to a press release said. The award was presented during the 10th Annual General Meeting of the Bankers’ Welfare Association Bangladesh (BWAB), held at Sayeman Beach Resort, Cox’s Bazar, by BWAB President Kazi Md Shafiqur Rahman.
The recognition highlights Ahmed’s contribution to strengthening organisational efficiency through digital innovation and improving access to financial services for marginalised women. It also acknowledges his broader role in promoting social welfare initiatives and supporting technology-driven financial inclusion, particularly within the microfinance sector.
