The Trinibago Knight Riders took on the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the 14th game of the CPL 2025. Before the game, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons were the table toppers with 3 wins, 2 losses and 7 points.

The match started with a double-wicket maiden from Mohammad Amir. Amir, who recently reached 400+ T20 wickets got both Rahkeem Cornwall and Karima Gore out for a duck. On both occasions he seamed the ball in to get the batters lbw.

Akeal Hosein joined the party soon. He quickly removed the American Andries Gaus. His ball that went with the arm got Gaus bowled – a typical Akeal dismissal.

It was time for Shakib Al Hasan to come in and build a partnership with Jewel Andrew. Shakib started off with a four off the first ball. He swept Akeal for four, just getting his bat to touch the ball. Jewel Andrew kept on bringing the runs at the other end.

Just when the partnership between Shakib and Andrew reached 25 runs, Akeal Hosein broke it. The Windies left-arm spinner got Shakib’s top edge as he tried to sweep. The other spinner, Sunil Narine took the catch. Shakib had to depart for 13 off 14 deliveries.

Andre Russell came in with a double strike. In 3 balls, he removed both Jewel Andrew and Fabian Allen. Jewel Andrew was caught at deep cover with a one-handed stunner by McKenny. On the other hand, Fabian Allen was caught behind. Russell got is inside edge and wicketkeeper Pooran took a confident catch. The Falcons got to 6 down for 71.

Captain Imad Wasim built up a brilliant partnership with Usama Mir. The all-Pakistan duo posted 64 on the board. They took 43 balls to do so. Usama Mir fell to Mohammad Amir as he mixed it up nicely. The slower removed him on 34 off 26.

Mohammad Amir ended with an excellent bowling figure of 4-1-22-3. With a valuable 37*(25) from the skipper Imad Wasim, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons reached 146/7 in 20 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan, who has been regularly brought late to bowl by captain Imad Wasim, was brought early today. He struck in his first over to remove Colin Munro, the all-time best overseas batter in CPL history. The big swing off Shakib coming from round the wicket landed into the hands of Gore at deep backward square leg.

The ace-allrounder finished his 4-over spell in the 13th over. He ended with a bowling figure of 4-0-25-1 as the only wicket-taking bowler until then. Later, Jayden Seales removed Keacy Carty on 60(45), but it was too late to turn the course of the game.

The Trinibago Knight Riders went past the finishing line scoring 152/2 in 18.4 overs.
