Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has appointed Md Abdullah Al-Mamun as Additional Managing Director, effective 28 April 2026, strengthening its senior management team, the bank said in a press release.
Md Abdullah Al-Mamun joins the bank after serving as Deputy Managing Director at Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, bringing nearly three decades of experience in Islamic banking and corporate operations.
He began his banking career at Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC on 30 April 1998 as a Probationary Officer and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer, holding various roles across branch operations and the corporate head office.
With 28 years of professional experience at the bank, he has worked extensively in branch management and senior leadership positions, including overseeing corporate branches and contributing to business development.
He has built a track record in customer relationship management and branch expansion, particularly during his tenure as manager of three corporate branches of the bank.
Md Abdullah Al-Mamun completed his graduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Dhaka and holds an MBA in Accounting.
He also obtained the Canadian Securities Course and Certified Financial Planning qualifications from Toronto, Canada, and later earned the ACBA certification from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka.
He has participated in numerous training programmes and workshops at home and abroad, further strengthening his professional expertise.
