Actress Safa Kabir has shared her disappointment after Brazil suffered a 2-1 defeat to Norway and exited the FIFA World Cup 2026 in a surprise result that disappointed football fans worldwide, including supporters from Bangladesh’s entertainment industry.
Safa Kabir attended the match in person at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States. She watched Brazil’s campaign end from the stands. After the final whistle confirmed Brazil’s 2-1 defeat, she posted a video from outside the stadium.
She appeared in the video wearing a Brazil jersey with the Bangladesh national flag draped over her shoulder.
In the video, she spoke in a subdued tone while wearing sunglasses.
She said, “At this moment, I do not feel well. It is sad. However, Inshallah, we will come next World Cup.” She also added a broken heart emoji in the caption and wrote, “Inshallah next time.”
Earlier during the match, Safa Kabir shared a photo from the stadium stands. She wore a Brazil number 10 jersey in the image. In the caption, she spoke about her dream for Bangladesh football and its future on the world stage.
She wrote, “Today I came to support Brazil at the FIFA World Cup 2026. But deep in my heart, I have another dream. One day Bangladesh will also play on this stage. I will then stand here and support my own country with pride.”
Actress Mehazabien Chowdhury also attended the match at the stadium and watched the same high-voltage encounter.
Brazil, the five-time world champions, exited the tournament after losing 2-1 to Norway at MetLife Stadium.
