Legendary singer Sabina Yasmin has re-recorded the iconic song ‘Ei Mon Tomake Dilam’ for the upcoming film ‘Domm’, 44 years after first performing it for the 1982 film ‘Manosi’.
Widely regarded as one of the most memorable songs in the history of Bangladeshi cinema, the original track was written by renowned lyricist and filmmaker Gazi Mazharul Anwar and composed by Anwar Pervez. For the new version in Domm, additional lyrics have been written by Tonmoy Pervez, while the music has been rearranged by Arafat Mohsin Nidhi.
The song was recorded at a studio in the capital on March 11, where Sabina Yasmin lent her voice alongside emerging singer Momin Biswas.
Speaking during the recording, Sabina Yasmin said she agreed to the project because she appreciated the new arrangement. “I liked the new composition, which is why I decided to do it. I also enjoy working with younger artistes,” she said.

Following the session, the veteran singer also praised the performances of Afran Nisho and Puja Cherry, who play the lead roles in the film.
Director Redoan Rony said the team wanted a song that would resonate emotionally with audiences. “Domm is a story rooted in Bangladesh, a film about ordinary people rising up. Ei Mon Tomake Dilam is no longer just a song; it carries the emotions, love, memories, joys and sorrows of a nation,” he said.
He added that the children of Gazi Mazharul Anwar, Sarfaraz Anwar Upol and Dithi Anwar, granted permission for the song’s use and were present during the recording.
Produced by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment and Chorki, Domm is scheduled for release this Eid-ul-Fitr with the tagline ‘Until the Last Breath’. The screenplay was written by Redoan Rony along with Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, Md Saifullah Riad and Robiul Alam Robi.
