Bangladesh High Performance team beat New Zealand A by 23 runs in the Top End T20 in Darwin on Thursday.
Bangladesh HP defended 181 for five by restricting New Zealand A to 158 for eight in 20 overs at the DXC Arena. The result gave Bangladesh their third win in four matches.
New Zealand A made a promising start to their chase of 182.
Katene Clarke attacked early and scored 24 from only 10 balls. But Bangladesh removed him before he could cause more damage.
Max Chu and Matthew Boyle then tried to keep New Zealand A in the chase.
The pair added 54 runs for the second wicket.
Chu scored 44 from 33 balls, while Boyle made 31 from 22 deliveries. But Bangladesh fought back after breaking their partnership.
Rakibul Hasan and Ripon Mondol played key roles with the ball as New Zealand A began to lose control of the chase.
Josh Clarkson tried to keep his side alive towards the end. But the required run rate continued to rise.
New Zealand A eventually finished on 158 for eight, leaving Bangladesh with a comfortable 23 run victory.
Earlier, New Zealand A chose to field first after winning the toss.
Bangladesh suffered an early blow when opener Jishan Alam was dismissed without scoring.
Habibur Rahman Sohan and Ariful Islam then started the recovery.
Sohan made 26 from 21 balls before his dismissal.
Captain Irfaan Shukkur also fell cheaply for three, bringing Sabbir Rahman to the crease. The spelling of Irfaan Shukkur and the other Bangladesh HP players is also listed in the tournament squad information.
Ariful continued to attack from the other end and put Bangladesh in a strong position.
He looked on course for an even bigger score before being dismissed for 71 from 48 balls. His innings included seven fours and two sixes.
Shamim Hossain could not make a major contribution, but Sabbir kept the runs flowing.
The experienced batter remained unbeaten on 62 from 36 balls. He struck six fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 172.22.
Bangladesh eventually reached 181 for five from their 20 overs.
The bowlers then completed the job to give Bangladesh HP another important victory in the tournament.
