Cristiano Ronaldo will executive produce and appear in Day 1s, a new British football drama that also features Thierry Henry and actor Damian Lewis. Filming has already started in London, with the Portugal captain adding his first reported scripted acting role while continuing his playing career with Al-Nassr.
The series follows fictional football agent Stanley Dalton, played by Lewis, and explores the business behind elite football rather than the lives of players on the pitch. Henry will also appear in the production, while British rapper Dave and actor Carlotta Banat form part of the cast.
According to The Sun, filming has begun at Barnet’s Hive Stadium in north-west London. Ronaldo will appear on screen and also serve as an executive producer.
The project comes through UR•Marv, the independent film studio Ronaldo launched with Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn in April 2025. The pair have already financed and produced two action films, with a third currently in development.
“This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business,” Ronaldo said when UR•Marv launched last year.
Vaughn praised the partnership at the time, saying Ronaldo had “created stories on the pitch that I could never have written” as they outlined plans to expand into film production.
Day 1s is based on a concept created by football agent Darren Dein, who also represents Henry and serves as an executive producer. The series offers a fictional look at negotiations, transfers and the personalities surrounding professional football.
No broadcaster, streaming platform or release date has been confirmed. However, reports suggest several streaming services have already shown interest in securing the project.
The television venture adds another business project to Ronaldo’s growing portfolio. Unlike many former footballers who enter entertainment after retirement, the 41-year-old continues to captain Al-Nassr and represent Portugal while expanding his work in film and television.
