Detectives in Rajbari have arrested a local Krishak League leader in connection with a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act in Rathkhola village of Banibaha union.
Md Abu Bokkor Khan, 48, Rajbari District Convener of the Krishak League, was detained on Saturday around 3:30pm from his home in Nobagram in Sadar upazila. Three others were also detained with him.
According to police, the case relates to an incident on the night of 10 November, when members of Awami League’s associated bodies including Chhatra League and Jubo League allegedly brought out a procession to implement the party’s lockdown programme.
Acting on a tip-off, police rushed to the area, chased the group members and detained four individuals at the scene.
Md Mofizul Islam, officer-in-charge of Rajbari Detective Branch of police, confirmed the arrests.
