Pubali Bank PLC delivered a record financial performance in 2025, marking what the lender described as a new phase of sustained growth underpinned by customer trust, strong governance and disciplined risk management.
The bank recorded operating profit of more than Tk3000 crore in 2025, the highest in its history, according to a press release. The result represented growth of about 27 per cent from 2024, highlighting what the bank said was steady and responsible progress in line with its long-term strategy, said in a press release.
Customer confidence remained a central driver of the performance. Total deposits rose by more than 20 per cent year on year to Tk89,552 crore in 2025, reflecting continued trust in the bank’s stability and services. At the same time, Pubali Bank expanded its lending to support business and industrial activity, with total advances increasing by 13 per cent to Tk71,140 crore.
The bank also strengthened its role in financing Bangladesh’s external trade. Import financing grew by 7 per cent during the year, while export financing rose by more than 21 per cent, supporting trade flows and broader economic activity.
Alongside growth, the bank reported improvements in balance sheet quality. Non-performing loans were kept at 2.14 per cent, while the advance–deposit ratio improved to 72.53 per cent, indicating what the lender described as balanced and prudent banking operations.
The performance was marked with a simple celebration at the bank’s head office.
Commenting on the results, Mohammad Ali Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank PLC said the outcome reflected a combination of responsible board oversight, sound corporate governance, customer confidence, employee commitment and effective management.
He said the achievement would encourage the bank to further strengthen its services, with particular emphasis on the expansion of digital and cashless banking, while maintaining safety and reliability.
