A process is currently underway to issue an Interpol notice targeting deposed former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, who have been sentenced to death and are fugitives in a crimes against humanity case.
Officials from the Police Headquarters have verified this development, stating that the action is being taken subsequent to the ruling by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), which imposed the death penalty on Sheikh Hasina and Kamal for authorising the suppression of the student-initiated July Uprising last year.
Earlier, on Wednesday, the full text of the verdict sentencing Sheikh Hasina to death for crimes against humanity, along with her cabinet member, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, was released on Wednesday.
