Priyanka Chopra has opened up about her relationship with Nick Jonas, saying his respect for her Indian culture and traditions was essential to their relationship.
Speaking to E! News, Priyanka said she might not have fallen in love with Nick had he not respected her cultural roots.
“I don’t know if I’d love him if he didn’t. That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural,” she said.
The actor stressed the importance of respecting a partner’s background in an intercultural relationship.
“I think it’s really important to have a sense of respect for your partner’s roots,” she added.
Priyanka also credited kindness for helping maintain the spark in their marriage.
“Being kind to your partner. That’s something that’s really important,” she said.
The actor recently attended the New York premiere of Cycle of Love, a documentary about the real-life cross-cultural love story of K Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin.
Priyanka serves as an executive producer on the project.
She has also publicly expressed her admiration for Nick, recently calling their relationship “the best decision” she ever made as he released his album Sunday Best.
On the work front, Priyanka will star alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, scheduled for release during Sankranti 2027.
She also has Citadel Season 2 and the upcoming sci-fi thriller Bluefly in her line-up.
