Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will exchange Eid greetings with diplomats, academics and people from all walks of life on Eid-ul-Fitr day at State Guest House Jamuna.
The programme will begin at 10:00am, Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said on Wednesday.
He said the Prime Minister will first offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah before heading to Jamuna to greet diplomats.
The Prime Minister will later exchange greetings with cabinet members, Members of Parliament, distinguished citizens, academics, religious scholars, cultural figures, and senior government and private officials, alongside people from all sections of society.
After the programme, he will visit Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with family members to pay respects at the graves of Bangladesh Nationalist Party founder and former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on Friday or Saturday, subject to moon sighting.
This will be Tarique Rahman’s first Eid in the country in more than one and a half decades after spending the past 17 years in London.
He returned to Bangladesh with his family on 25 December and assumed office as Prime Minister following victory in the 13th national election in February.
