Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday praised a young innovator from Moulvibazar after learning about his environment-friendly inventions and assured government support for his work.
Prime minister was informed about the innovations of student and innovator Sajjadul Islam at a meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the afternoon.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony said Sajjadul Islam briefed the Prime Minister on his work.
His innovations include biodegradable polythene made from rotten and discarded vegetables, as well as corrugated sheets, tiles and boards produced from banana fibres.
The Prime Minister appreciated the use of local raw materials in developing eco-friendly products. He said the initiatives reflect strong innovation potential.
He assured full government support for Sajjadul Islam’s research and development activities. He also encouraged him to continue his innovation work.
