Disney+ reveals first look at Percy Jackson season 3

Disney+ has announced that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 will premiere on 20 November, giving fans their first look at the next chapter of the fantasy adventure series, states Variety.

The announcement came during San Diego Comic-Con, where Disney+ screened the opening minutes of the upcoming season.

Based on Rick Riordan’s third book, The Titan’s Curse, the new season will follow Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) and the campers of Camp Half-Blood as they attempt to rescue Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and the goddess Artemis (Dafne Keen) from the Titan Atlas (Holt McCallany).

The season begins with Thalia Grace (Tamara Smart), daughter of Zeus, battling a monster in a parking garage.

Percy arrives to help her defeat the creature, but Thalia makes it clear that she does not need his assistance.

After they win the fight, Annabeth reveals that she asked Percy to join the mission because they need Thalia’s help to rescue two demigods, believed to be Nico and Bianca di Angelo, and bring them safely to Camp Half-Blood.

The tension between Percy and Thalia continues from the conclusion of Season 2, with Percy admitting that he does not want Zeus’ daughter to join their quest. Before the group reaches a decision, Thalia drives away.

Several familiar faces will return for the third season, including Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Daniel Diemer as Tyson and Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue.

The new season will also introduce several characters from Greek mythology, including Levi Chrisopulos as Nico di Angelo, Olive Abercrombie as Bianca di Angelo, Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade, Hubert Smielecki as Apollo, Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite and Ming-Na Wen as Hera.

During the Comic-Con panel, Walker Scobell said he believes Season 3 is the most faithful adaptation of Riordan’s books so far.

Season 2 adapted The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Riordan’s bestselling series, and ended with the arrival of Thalia Grace, setting up her major role in the upcoming storyline.
