For the first time, Bangladesh has entered the top two in the People’s Choice category at the Miss Universe stage, with Tangia Zaman Methila emerging as one of the leading contenders. In a global contest featuring beauty queens from 121 countries, Bangladesh now needs to outvote the Philippines to move closer to the crown.
In a last-minute push, Miss Bangladesh authorities have called for nationwide support.
On Thursday, the Miss Universe Bangladesh team announced on their official Facebook page that Methila is currently competing head-to-head with the Philippines’ contestant Ahtisa Manalo in the Miss Universe 2025 People’s Choice race.
To lift the nation’s pride, both Methila and the Miss Bangladesh authorities have urged people across the country to cast as many votes as possible. Voting for Methila will remain open until 19 November.
Meanwhile, the main Miss Universe 2025 programme is underway in Thailand. From the 121 contestants, the top 18 will be shortlisted on 19 November, followed by the announcement of the Miss Universe 2025 winner and the winning country on 21 November.
However, to maintain this lead, Methila has urged supporters not to pause their voting efforts.
On Friday, she uploaded a video message, saying, “From yesterday until today (Thursday), Bangladesh has been ranked number one in the People’s Choice category. But in other segments, many countries are still ahead of us. So we cannot stop voting.”
She further said, “With the size of our population, no country can surpass us if we all continue voting together. Our strength lies in our numbers. So please support me and continue voting for Bangladesh until 19 November.”

Open the app and tap the Vote button.
Go to the People’s Choice section and select Tangia Zaman Methila.
