A clash between two groups over paddy harvesting left one person dead and four others injured in Terokhada upazila of Khulna.
The incident took place in Madhupur union around 12:25am on Friday, when tensions linked to an earlier dispute escalated into violence, according to local sources.
Nur Alam was critically injured during the clash and later died while undergoing treatment. Four others were also injured and admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
The violence broke out over a long-standing dispute related to paddy cutting, locals said.
Police said the clash involved two factions of BNP, triggered by previous enmity.
“The situation is now under control and drives are underway to arrest those involved,” said Terokhada Police Station Officer-in-Charge.
