Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim has been promoted to the rank of Admiral.
The Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate announced the promotion on Sunday, confirming his advancement to the highest rank in the Bangladesh Navy.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Army Chief General Waker‑Uz‑Zaman adorned Navy Chief Misbah with the Admiral’s rank badge at the Air Force Headquarters.
The prime minister congratulated him during the ceremony.
Advisers from the Armed Forces Division and the Ministry of Defence, the Air Force chief, the principal staff officer of the Armed Forces Division, the defence secretary, and other senior military officials attended the event.
Misbah assumed office as Chief of Naval Staff on 23 July. One month after taking charge, he has now been promoted to the rank of Admiral.
