Actress Moushumi, who has been in the US supporting her daughter’s education, has addressed ongoing rumours that she married her co-star Hasan Jahangir following their work together on the telefilm ‘PS Chai Sundori’.
Hasan Jahangir had commented on the speculation a few days ago and now Moushumi has responded herself, dismissing the rumours as “baseless and worthless,” adding that even when she addresses such claims, people seem to enjoy false news more.
Moushumi clarified that she has no intention of seeking personal publicity through such speculation.
“Some people spread fabricated stories using the names of artists to gain views and attention. Lies are often presented in colourful ways on Facebook or YouTube, which increases their reach,” she said. She suggested that stricter enforcement of the law and exemplary punishments could reduce the circulation of such rumours.
Moushumi also expressed concern about the personal toll of these stories. “Some people, motivated by personal gain, are damaging the private lives of artists, which is very sad,” she added.
Meanwhile, her upcoming film ‘Ordhangini’ is reportedly awaiting release on YouTube rather than in cinemas or OTT platforms, although she has given differing indications about its launch. Moushumi is also currently filming another drama in the US.
