BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that mobs are being created to prevent Chhatra Dal from getting nomination forms for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections.
He made these remarks to journalists on Tuesday after paying respects at the grave of Ziaur Rahman on the founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Swechchasebak Dal.
Rizvi further stated, “Mobs are rampant across the country. As the law is not being properly enforced, public is taking it into their own hands.”
Claiming that minority lives are endangered, he added, “Two individuals from a minority community have been killed in Rangpur mob attacks. We cannot expect such an environment from the interim government.”
Asserting that the entire nation is awaiting an electoral roadmap, he said, “The current government must make arrangements for holding a free and fair election so voters can go to polling centers without facing any problems.”
Rizvi also demanded the cancellation of polling centres set up in the past for political motives.
On this point, he stated, “An election was held without voters, another had a midnight vote and the other and most recent one in 2024 was a dummy election.”
