Stranger Things star David Harbour has found himself at the centre of fresh controversy, following reports that co-star Millie Bobby Brown has accused him of bullying and harassment on set. The allegations come amid Harbour’s highly publicised separation from singer-songwriter Lily Allen, who has also levelled claims of infidelity against him.
According to The Mail, Brown, 21, filed a formal complaint to Netflix before production began on the fifth and final season of the hit sci-fi series. “There were pages and pages of accusations,” the report claims, adding that the subsequent internal investigation lasted several months.
Netflix has so far declined to comment on the matter, maintaining its policy of not discussing ongoing internal investigations. However, insiders suggest the platform’s silence “speaks volumes”, with one source noting that the company’s refusal to deny the reports has only intensified speculation.
It is reported that Brown had a personal representative present throughout the filming of Season 5, which will mark the concluding chapter of the global phenomenon.
This is not the first time Harbour has faced controversy. Alongside the alleged on-set misconduct, the 49-year-old actor is reportedly under scrutiny following the breakdown of his marriage to Lily Allen.
Her forthcoming album ‘West End Girl’ is rumoured to reference infidelity during their relationship, with reports suggesting Harbour had an affair with New Orleans-based costume designer Natalie Tippett.
Sources close to Allen claim she stood by Harbour during the investigation involving Brown.
Created by the Duffer Brothers in 2016, Stranger Things remains one of Netflix’s most successful original series, blending 1980s nostalgia with sci-fi and supernatural horror.
The final season will see the return of its beloved ensemble cast, including Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton, alongside Brown and Harbour.
Netflix has confirmed that Stranger Things 5 will be released in three instalments: Volume 1 on November 26, Volume 2 on December 25 and the final episode arriving on December 31.
