Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Das believes Shamim Hossain Patwary needs to be more responsible with his batting. On Monday against West Indies, Bangladesh were struggling at 41 for 3 while chasing 166 when Shamim threw his wicket away to Jason Holder.
Facing a good-length delivery from Holder, Shamim attempted a cross-batted shot but was bowled, deepening Bangladesh’s troubles. The hosts eventually fell 16 runs short in the first T20I in Chattogram.
During the post-match presentation, skipper Litton expressed his disappointment. “On the batting side, I think we lost too many wickets in the powerplay. I was very upset with Shamim Hossain’s batting. He has to think about it; you can’t come and just enjoy batting all the time. You have to take responsibility,” Litton said.
