Juairiya Ferdous has been rewarded for a dazzling debut at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a 36-place jump in the latest ICC T20 batting rankings, published on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old opener climbed to joint 97th in the world alongside Namibia’s Yasmeen Khan after a starring role in Bangladesh’s six-wicket victory over the Netherlands on Sunday. Chasing a target of 141, Juairiya blazed 50 runs off just 33 balls, striking seven fours and two sixes, to set up the win and earn the player of the match award on her World Cup debut.

Sharmin Akter Supta also moved up the rankings following her contribution in the same match. The experienced batter came in at number five and finished unbeaten on 37 off 32 balls to see Bangladesh home, earning her a seven-place rise to 41st in the world.

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana, however, slipped five places to 23rd after being dismissed first ball against the Netherlands. She remains the highest-ranked Bangladeshi batter in the standings.

Among the bowlers, pacer Marufa Akter made the most notable gain, climbing seven places to 57th. Ritu Moni moved up three places, while Rabeya and Trishna each advanced one position. Leg-spinner Rabeya Khan remains the highest-ranked Bangladeshi bowler, sitting at 19th in the world.
