The first-year undergraduate (honours) admission tests at Jahangirnagar University (JU) for the 2026–27 academic session will be held between 10 and 21 January.
The examinations will take place on working days during this period, excluding Friday and Saturday.
Ali Reza, deputy registrar of the university’s academic section confirmed the decision.
He said the first meeting on preparations for the upcoming admission tests was held at the university, where officials decided to hold the exams from 10 to 21 January, excluding the weekly holidays.
Regarding the examination venue, Ali said that although the Academic Council had previously decided to hold tests at the divisional level, examinations would not be held in divisional cities for the 2026–27 academic session.
Instead, the tests would be held on the university campus, following the previous campus-centred system.
On examination fees, he said discussions took place during the meeting, but no final decision had been made.
A decision may be reached at the next meeting.
As the review of admission test results remains pending, no changes to the fees can be confirmed at present.
The unit distribution for the current academic session will remain unchanged from last year.
However, the meeting decided that the Department of Law would take part in the admission test under the Faculty of Social Sciences this time.
