Bangladesh national football team captain Jamal Bhuyan has joined Nagad as its brand ambassador under a six-month partnership aimed at promoting financial inclusion among young people and sports enthusiasts across the country. The agreement was signed at the Sheraton Dhaka Hotel on Aug 31 in the presence of Nagad Administrator Md Motasem Billah, according to a press release.
Under the partnership, Bhuyan will feature in promotional campaigns and customer engagement initiatives focused on financial inclusion, sports and digital empowerment. The agreement is intended to connect Nagad’s digital financial services with a wider audience through the popularity of football.
Bhuyan said he had previously worked with Nagad and had a positive experience with the company. He said he was pleased to join as its brand ambassador and described Nagad’s World Cup-focused campaign as a notable success.
He also said Nagad had transformed digital transactions in Bangladesh through continued innovation and customer-focused services. Its campaigns and rewards for customers had further strengthened its relationship with a broader customer base, he said.
Welcoming Bhuyan to Nagad, Billah said the company had been working to build stronger relationships with Bangladeshi footballers. He said Nagad hoped to bring more star players into its network and would continue to support sports and sportspersons at every level in Bangladesh.
The signing ceremony was attended by Senior Associate Administrator Syed Himyanuddin Ahmed, Associate Administrator Anwar Ullah, Chief Commercial Officer Shahin Sarwar Bhuiyan, Chief Financial Officer Afzal Ahmed and Head of Marketing HUM Mehedi Sajjad, along with other senior company officials.
