Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman paid a courtesy meeting with Sarah Cooke, British high commissioner to Bangladesh, on Thursday morning.
The meeting took place at Jamaat Ameer’s office in Bashundhara.
Timothy Duckett, head of political affairs at the British High Commission, also attended the discussion.
According to a press release, the meeting was conducted in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. The participants discussed a range of issues concerning Bangladesh and expressed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UK.
Shafiqur Rahman’s upcoming visit to the UK was also discussed during the meeting. During this visit, the Jamaat Ameer is scheduled to hold talks with a British government minister.
The meeting underscores ongoing diplomatic engagement and mutual interest in enhancing cooperation between Bangladesh and the UK.
