The Rangamati-special episode of ‘Ityadi’ will be rebroadcast after the 8:00 pm Bangla news on Friday, May 1. This special episode was originally recorded in September 2016.
In this episode, Robi Chowdhury and Chamchami Dewan perform the widely popular song ‘Rangamatir Ronge Chokh Juralo’, highlighting the striking colours of Rangamati. The programme also features a dance performance by local artistes.
The episode includes several reports. One focuses on Mamun Biswas, a young man from Sirajganj, who stepped forward to support underprivileged people through an innovative use of Facebook.
Another fact-based report will bring to screen the lifestyle of various small ethnic communities in Rangamati, along with its natural beauty, scenic landscapes and tourist attractions.
This time, the international segment highlights the Delta Works in the Netherlands, the world’s largest dam and flood prevention project, drawing a comparison with the Kaptai Hydropower Station.
Audience participation for Ityadi was arranged through a question-and-answer session centred on Rangamati. In the second segment, a winner was selected through performances based on local traditional and nearly extinct musical instruments.
As usual, the programme also features several satirical sketches compiled from different episodes of ‘Ityadi’, addressing various social inconsistencies and contemporary issues, including the Nani-Nati, Mama-Bhagne and Chithi-Potro segments.
