Indian President Droupadi Murmu has extended warm greetings to Bangladesh on its National Day, reaffirming India’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and advancing regional peace and prosperity.
In a letter addressed to Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Murmu highlighted the shared history, deep cultural linkages, and enduring linguistic traditions that form the foundation of the close partnership between the two nations.
“On behalf of the government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Bangladesh on the occasion of your National Day,” Murmu wrote.
She noted that through the years, both countries have made significant progress in advancing people-centric development across key sectors, including connectivity, trade, development partnership, power and energy, capacity building, and education, delivering tangible benefits to citizens on both sides of the border.
“India looks forward to working closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen our bilateral partnership and to advance regional peace, stability and prosperity,” she added.
The Indian president concluded her letter with assurances of her renewed consideration and best wishes to the government and people of Bangladesh.
