ICT seeks info about unidentified 8 martyrs of July uprising

The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has sought public assistance in identifying eight martyrs of the July mass uprising.

A government handout on Monday said following the uprising, 81 unidentified bodies were buried by Anjuman Mufidul Islam at the Rayerbazar cemetery after autopsies conducted at Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue. Among them, eight were unidentified.

The release said it is necessary to determine the identities of the eight unidentified martyrs for the sake of the ICT investigation.

Photographs and additional descriptions of the eight individuals are available on the website of the Department of Information, as well as at the ICT investigation agency and Shahbagh Police Station in Dhaka.

On January 15, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs published a gazette listing the martyrs of the July 2024 mass uprising stating the total number as 834.
