HSBC has officially launched the HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2025, a programme designed to recognise and celebrate Bangladesh’s leading exporters for their contributions to the country’s sustainable growth.
This prestigious award programme invites all exporters in Bangladesh to nominate themselves for the title of ‘Exporter of the Year,’ with four categories of awards to be contested, says a press release.
The categories include Export Excellence in Ready-made Garments for exporters with over USD 100 million in export revenue, which covers all apparel products in the mainstream RMG sector.
The second category, Export Excellence in Ready-made Garments Backward Linkage, focuses on those whose export revenue exceeds USD 50 million and who supply products supporting the RMG and other manufacturing sectors.
The third category, Export Excellence in Non-traditional and Emerging Sectors – Manufacturing, is open to businesses in sectors such as electronics, light engineering, footwear, and agro-processing with an export revenue of USD 10 million or above.
The final category, Export Excellence in Non-traditional and Emerging Sectors – Service, is for service-oriented exporters with revenues exceeding USD 5 million, covering professional, digital, and knowledge-based services.
The awards programme is supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh, and the British High Commission in Dhaka, with KPMG Advisory Services Limited serving as the technical partner for auditing.
A jury board, comprising senior management from HSBC, the Ministry of Commerce, and the British High Commission, will select the winners based on their annual contribution to national exports, sustainable business practices, regulatory compliance, and governance strengths.
Speaking at the launch event, Md Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh, emphasised the significance of the awards in recognising Bangladesh’s most successful enterprises.
He said, “Through this award, we celebrate the achievements of the country’s top entrepreneurs, helping showcase ‘Made in Bangladesh’ globally while strengthening our economy.”
Talukdar Noman Anwar, Country Head of Communications at HSBC Bangladesh, elaborated on the rules and regulations of the programme.
Past winners, such as MA Jabbar, Managing Director of DBL Group, and Kutubuddin Ahmed, Chairman of Envoy Legacy Group, also shared their experiences, discussing how the awards have impacted their businesses.
The program is open to all enterprises in Bangladesh, not just HSBC customers, with no entry fees. The nomination phase will close on September 18, 2025.
