Hezbollah said it carried out 13 attacks against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, targeting troop concentrations, military vehicles and army command centres.
In a statement outlining operations that continued into Tuesday, the group said its fighters employed rocket barrages, artillery fire, guided missiles and attack drones against Israeli positions and advancing troops, reports Al Jazeera.
According to Hezbollah, the attacks involved heavy clashes across several strategic areas in southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces have launched incursions.
The group said its fighters struck several Israeli Merkava tanks in Haddatha and the al-Balou’ area. It also reported detonating an explosive device against a military vehicle, forcing Israeli troops to suspend their advance and pull back while Israeli warplanes provided aerial cover.
Hezbollah further stated that its forces launched attacks on Israeli positions near southern Lebanon’s historic Beaufort Castle and in the town of Biyyada. The group said guided missiles and rocket barrages hit an Israeli command headquarters and armoured units in the area.
