The government will launch an inquiry into the deaths of more than 300 children from measles and measles‑like symptoms to determine whether there was any negligence by the interim government, Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman said.
He made the remarks Tuesday while responding to journalists during a weekly briefing at the Secretariat.
“I think an inquiry should be held into this and I will speak to the prime minister about it,” the adviser said.
He added that the investigation aims to identify whether negligence occurred.
If the probe finds anyone responsible, they will be held accountable and brought to justice, he said.
