The government has appointed new deputy commissioners (DCs) for six districts: Patuakhali, Kushtia, Kurigram, Meherpur, Netrokona, and Khulna.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding the appointments on Monday.
As part of the reshuffle, three current DCs have been transferred to new positions. Patuakhali DC Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arifin has been reassigned to Kushtia, Kushtia DC Md Toufiqur Rahman has been posted to Khulna, and Meherpur DC Sifat Mehnaz has been transferred to Kurigram.
In addition to these transfers, new appointments have been made. Dr Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury, a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, will take over as the new DC of Patuakhali. Dr Mohammad Abdul Salam, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as DC of Meherpur, while Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman, zonal settlement officer at the Department of Land Records and Survey, has been appointed DC of Netrokona.
This reshuffle marks the latest in a series of administrative changes by the government.
