The government has declared a general holiday in three hill districts on 13 April to mark Chaitra Sankranti, the last day of the Bangla year.
The Ministry of Public Administration announced the decision in a notification on Sunday.
According to the notification, Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban will observe a general holiday on 13 April.
It added that elsewhere in the country, the holiday will be optional for members of the relevant communities.
