Fire scars were visible across The Daily Star building on Friday morning, a day after enraged crowds vandalised and set fire to the newspaper’s office following the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi in Dhaka on Thursday night.

Burn marks could be seen on different parts of the building in the Farmgate area, reflecting the scale of the arson attack.

Earlier last night, a group of agitated protesters first torched the Prothom Alo office in Karwan Bazar, then they proceeded to attack The Daily Star.
