England and Spain, the two European Championship finalists, have been drawn in the same group for the 2026–27 UEFA Nations League, setting up another high-profile clash between Europe’s top teams.
The draw for Europe’s premier national team competition took place on Thursday. In League A’s Group 3, Spain and England will face 2023 finalists Croatia and the Czech Republic. England, promoted from League B last season, already met Croatia in their World Cup group earlier this year, adding extra intrigue to the matchup.
France and Italy, meanwhile, will compete in League A’s Group 1 for the second year in a row. Their other opponents in the group are Belgium and Turkey, ensuring a tightly contested set of fixtures.
Former finalists the Netherlands are placed in Group 2 alongside Germany, Serbia, and Greece, while reigning champions Portugal will face Denmark, Norway, and Wales in Group 4.
Russia will be absent from the tournament due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, leaving the competition without one of its traditionally strong sides.
