Additional Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam has been appointed as the new head of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The appointment was confirmed in an official order signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali on Wednesday, August 27.
A member of the 18th BCS cadre, Shafiqul Islam previously served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Highway Police before taking on his new role.
