Dhaka has expressed its gratitude to the government of the Czech Republic for acknowledging the significance of Bangladeshi People’s Uprising of July 2024.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Germany and concurrently accredited to the Czech Republic, Muhammad Zulqar Nain, conveyed the message to Czech President Petr Pavel on Monday while presenting his credentials at the Presidential Palace in Prague.
Rahat Bin Zaman, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, and Muhammad Mohsin Reza, Counsellor of the Mission, accompanied the Ambassador during the ceremony.
According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh embassy, the ambassador held an official meeting with President Pavel, where both sides discussed issues of mutual interest — particularly trade, investment, technology, and defense cooperation.
On behalf of the President, Chief Adviser, and the people of Bangladesh, Ambassador Zulqar Nain conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Czech President and the people of the Czech Republic.
The ambassador also met with Marek Libřický, Director for Asia and the Pacific at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a range of bilateral issues was discussed.
