Nine more people have died in the country in a single day after being infected with dengue fever. During this period, 1,042 people have been hospitalised with this mosquito-borne disease.
This information was provided in a press release sent on behalf of the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday.
It further stated that a total of 212 people have died from dengue so far this year. In the first five days of October, 2,565 people were hospitalized after being infected with dengue; and 14 people died.
The highest number of people were hospitalized with dengue in September this year. The number of deaths was also the highest in this month. In September, 15,866 patients were hospitalized; 76 people died.
