The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested 11 individuals, including 7 leaders of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from Kotalipara, Gopalganj.
They are detained on charges of attempting to create public fear and disrupt law and order in the capital through subversive activities.
According to DB officials, the arrests were made as part of an ongoing operation to prevent planned acts of sabotage and violence in various parts of Dhaka.
Law enforcers said the detainees were brought to the DB office for questioning, and initial investigations suggest they had gathered in the city with the intention of instigating unrest and spreading panic among residents.
