Confidence Cement has taken a major step towards nationwide expansion with the commencement of operations at its newly established industrial manufacturing plant in Palash, Narsingdi, aimed at ensuring availability of its products in every district and corner of the country.
The state-of-the-art plant, built with German VRM technology and using A-grade clinker, has an annual production capacity of 1.8 million metric tonnes, enabling uninterrupted supply across Bangladesh through an expanded distribution network.
The new phase of expansion was formally announced at the company’s official grand launching programme held at a city hotel on Friday, where Confidence Cement unveiled its future growth vision driven by technology, digitalisation and operational excellence.
The programme was attended by more than 700 guests, including Chairman Emeritus Engineer Rezaul Karim, Confidence Group Chairman Imran Karim, Vice Chairman Rupam Kishore Barua, Directors Salman Karim, Md Khalid Islam and Md Alamgir Kabir, CEO Jahir Uddin Ahmed, CFO Newaz Mohammad Iqbal Yusuf, CMO Nasir Ul Alam Sumon, Head of Brand and Research Anindya Sarker, and other senior management officials.

Speaking at the event, Engineer Rezaul Karim recalled the company’s journey since establishing Bangladesh’s first private-sector cement plant in Sitakunda, Chattogram, in 1994, at a time when nearly 80 per cent of the country’s cement demand was met through imports. He said the initiative marked a turning point in the domestic cement industry.
He said the new Narsingdi plant under Confidence Group would further strengthen the company’s ability to deliver world-class cement to cities, villages and remote areas across the country.
Confidence Group Chairman Imran Karim said Confidence Cement viewed its growth as an integral part of the nation’s development journey, adding that the new plant, advanced technology and strong distribution network would enable wider nationwide reach. He also highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable development and environment-friendly production.
CEO Jahir Uddin Ahmed said the expansion would not only increase production capacity but also ensure consistency in quality and reliability, while strengthening relationships with distributors, retail partners and customers.
CMO Nasir Ul Alam Sumon said the brand represented trust and long-term responsibility, adding that the nationwide expansion would deepen engagement with customers and partners across the country.
