Chinese Premier Li Qiang today congratulated Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on his inauguration, reaffirming Beijing’s support for Bangladesh’s new government.
In a congratulatory message, Li conveyed his warm wishes and said China and Bangladesh are close neighbours and Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partners bound by a long-standing friendship.
He said friendly exchanges between Beijing and Dhaka date back decades and noted that the two countries have marked 51 years of diplomatic relations.
Over that period, both sides have respected each other, treated one another as equals and pursued mutually beneficial cooperation, setting what he described as a model of state-to-state relations.
The Chinese Premier said his government supports the new Bangladeshi administration in ensuring smooth governance and advancing national development.
He expressed readiness to work closely with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to carry forward the traditional friendship, strengthen high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and expand exchanges across sectors.
Li said joint efforts would elevate the China-Bangladesh Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to a new height and bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
