A pedestrian was killed and two bus passengers, including a child, were injured after a bus lost control and crashed into the premises of Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday night.
The accident occurred at around 8pm near the hospital gate.
The bus smashed through the wall of a gas control room beside the entrance, killing a pedestrian at the scene. Two people inside the bus, including a child, were also injured.
Police from Cantonment Police Station detained the bus driver after the crash.
Confirming the incident, Sub-Inspector Manik, the duty officer at Cantonment Police Station, said police had received information about the accident around 40 minutes earlier.
“One person has died. The body has been kept at the morgue. The injured were rescued and admitted to Kurmitola General Hospital,” he said.
Police were sent to the scene and were carrying out necessary procedures, he added.
