BSF ‘pushes in’ 25 more people in Moulvibazar

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed 25 people into Bangladesh through two bordering areas of Srimangal and Kamalganj upazilas in Moulvibazar district.

Early Thursday morning, 19 individuals were pushed in through the Kakmara border point in Sindurkhan union of Srimangal. Among them were 6 men, 9 women, and 4 children.

Aminul Islam, the officer-in-charge (Acting) of Srimangal Police Station, stated that upon receiving information from locals, police detained them and brought them to the station.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that they are originally from Narail, Jashore, and Noakhali. They had been working in various parts of India, including Mumbai, for a long time.

Lt Col SM Zakaria, commanding officer of BGB’s 46 Battalion, confirmed that 6 more individuals were pushed in through the Dalai border in Kamalganj upazila. He mentioned that after detention, they are being questioned at the local border outpost.
