The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed a family of five into Bangladesh through the Ramgarh border in Khagrachhari early Thursday morning
The family — Md. Ummed Ali (42), his wife Selina Begum (35), and their three daughters Rumi Khatun (15), Rumpa Khatun (12), and Sumaiya Khatun (8) — entered Bangladesh through the Feniar Kul Char area at dawn, locals reported.
Upon reaching the Sonai Pul Bazar area, they were spotted by residents who promptly notified the Mahamuni BGB camp. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel took them into custody for verification.
Khagrachhari Superintendent of Police Md. Arefin Jewel later confirmed the incident to the media.
