Border Guard Bangladesh seized smuggled goods worth Tk 1,742,866,000 during operations across border areas and other locations in July, according to a press release.
The confiscated items include 9.267 kg of gold and 19.838 kg of silver.
BGB recovered 15,041 sarees, 8,811 pieces of three-piece suits, shirts, bed sheets and blankets, and 2,296 ready-made garments.
It also seized 2,941 metres of thin cloth, 289,061 cosmetic items and 1,091,272 fireworks.
Other recoveries include 3,921 cubic feet of wood, 3,345 kg of tea leaves, 68,129 kg of areca nuts, 16,134 kg of fertiliser, 10,875 kg of coal and 40,373 kg of thread and nets.
Electronic goods seized include 343 mobile phones, 468 mobile batteries, 7,861 mobile displays and 46,644 pairs of glasses.
The force confiscated 6,024 kg of fruit, 607 litres of edible oil, 951 litres of diesel, 7,835 kg of cumin seeds, 591 packets of seeds, 191 bags of shrimp fry, 1,963 kg of coffee and 222,899 pieces of chocolate.
BGB seized 943 cattle, two stone statues, five trucks or covered vans, seven pickups or Mahindras, seven private cars or microbuses, 206 boats, 57 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, 53 motorcycles and 42 bicycles or vans.
Recovered arms include 10 pistols, one revolver, one SMG, two rifles, four hand grenades, five magazines, 75 rounds of ammunition, 500 grams of gunpowder and 11 other firearms.
The seized narcotics include 989,583 yaba tablets, 816 grams of crystal meth, 3.45 kg of heroin and 140 grams of cocaine.
BGB also recovered 10,687 bottles of phensidyl, 7,870 bottles of foreign liquor, 334 litres of local liquor, 941 bottles of beer and 2,021.5 kg of marijuana.
It seized 406,637 packets of bidi and cigarettes, 455 kg of tobacco leaves, 80,699 narcotic tablets or injections, 4,959 bottles of Escaff syrup, 9,298 Anagra or Senegra tablets and 3,732,121 other medicines or tablets.
A total of 213 smugglers were arrested, including 204 Bangladeshi citizens and nine Indian nationals.
BGB sent back 540 Myanmar nationals attempting to enter Bangladesh illegally.
Legal action has been taken in all cases, the press release said.
