The United States is providing $2.4 million worth of health equipment and supplies to Bangladesh’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to strengthen maternal, newborn, and child health services nationwide.

US Ambassador Brent T Christensen handed over maternal and newborn care training models to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital Civil Surgeon Md Mizanur Rahman, according to a press release.

The broader US contribution includes newborn warmers, breathing equipment, therapeutic food for severely malnourished children, and supplies to preserve vaccine effectiveness.

These are being delivered to hospitals and health centers nationwide, including hard-to-reach areas, through US‑funded partners FHI 360, Jhpiego, JSI, and UNICEF.

This support advances the America First Global Health Strategy by strengthening health systems through practical partnerships and promoting American health innovation.

The United States reaffirmed its commitment to work with the Bangladesh government to expand access to quality health care across the country.
