Bangladesh secured a place in the Women’s Junior AHF Cup final after crushing Pakistan 8-0 in their third group match in Muscat, Oman, on Thursday, extending their unbeaten run in the tournament.
The emphatic victory guaranteed Bangladesh a top-two finish with one group fixture still to play. The women in red and green had already opened their campaign with a 6-0 win over Hong Kong and a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Uzbekistan.
Bangladesh seized control from the opening minutes against Pakistan. Shakira Rimon opened the scoring in the fourth minute, converting a penalty corner to hand her side an early advantage.
The goals kept coming as Bangladesh dominated possession and created chances throughout the first three quarters. Pakistan struggled to contain the relentless attacking pressure, while Bangladesh moved the ball quickly and finished clinically in front of goal.
Prionti Oishi, Kona Akter, Ayrin Riya and Tashfiya Tisha all added their names to the scoresheet as Bangladesh built an unassailable lead before the final quarter.
Nadira Ema produced the standout performance of the match, scoring a hat-trick to earn the player-of-the-match award and lead Bangladesh’s eight-goal haul.
Although neither side scored in the fourth quarter, the result had already confirmed Bangladesh’s place in Saturday’s final, underlining the team’s consistency throughout the competition.
Bangladesh have now scored 15 goals without conceding across their opening three matches, highlighting both their attacking strength and defensive discipline during the tournament.
The team will complete the group stage against second-placed Kazakhstan before turning their attention to the final on July 18, where they will aim to complete an unbeaten campaign and lift the Women’s Junior AHF Cup title.
