The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold in the domestic market by Tk2,158 per bhori following three consecutive price increases.
According to a press release issued by BAJUS on Friday morning, the new rates came into effect at 10am.
Under the revised pricing structure, the price of 22-carat gold inclusive of VAT, has been set at Tk2,34,621 per bhori.
Additionally, the price of 21-carat gold will now stand at Tk2,24,065 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk1,92,398 per bhori, and gold refined through the traditional method at Tk1,57,172 per bhori.
BAJUS stated that the price adjustment was made following a decline in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market. Considering the overall situation, the association determined the new gold prices inclusive of VAT.
